The Corsar

Another unfinished model... it's inspired by the spaceship "Corsarius" which appears in the novel "A Talent For War" (dt. Die Legende von Christopher Sims) by Jack McDevitt.

Again, superb work ! Not heard of the book though. Got any ideas for textures on this ??

Thanks, I'm glad that you like it so far. I haven't thought about textures, yet. At first I want to bring the model to an end.

Do you design on paper often or do you do what I end up doing, just build until you like what you've come up with ?? I very rarely draw a quick sketch, if anything I build a quick low poly mock-up first !

Me too! I'm only sketching the basic idea. Details and further design evolve during the modeling process. And the result is often very different from first drawings.

I have this habit of building one thing in 3D,and then cloning it,turning it,stretching it,squashing it etc... and it ending up as something completetly different, that's the nice advantage to CG that you can't do with a real model. When I build real stuff I may build one engine but then I wish I had another 3 the same and it means building or casting the other one again, but in the computer it just copy and paste and I can have 20 engines if I want in seconds !!
